I spent these last couple of days in Portland, Oregon participating in PassinArts Theatre’s second biannual film festival, #PNMC Festival. It’s been an extraordinary experience. I met Bobby Yan, a director, who was straightforward and a very nice guy. I met a Canadian theatre artist, Alicia Payne, who was super interesting and kind. I had an insightful conversation with the legendary Starletta Dupois, along with “The Oval” actor Javon Johnson – who teaches and I was enthralled with his explanation of his school, and I met several of his students that came to Portland to perform in a play Javon wrote.
